Birthday Gift for Jan 1, 2007

Whimsical pillow for a co-worker that I finished yesterday. Portions of the applique are from wool skirts and jackets I found at a thrift store, brought home, washed and dried hot. Tada! Do you get the irony behind the scene? Kitties love mice, right? Should I add my sense of humor to my “weird” list?

2007 is about “use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without”. I have enough craft supplies to last a year or twenty…so handmade pillows, sachets, funky chickens, tissue holders, felted slippers are on the agenda.

Here’s the back. I saw the “Dear Friend” in one of my books and decided to add it to the back. I made an overlap opening for the pillow form.

Knitting News: Though I need to get Ms. Marigold done…I started on a pair of Fuzzy Feet for J. Zonda had knit some up and gave me inspiration. As much inspiration as we all get from each other, we should be crazy with ideas, right? I’m almost done with sock #1 and then I can work on sock #2 on the train tomorrow.

Today was dentist, visit children’s father, visit BaBai & UmBai (spelling is done for pronounciation purposes) who are like a grandparent to the kids. Then down to the train station to check out the parking situation, back to Frugals for a burger and shake, off to bank, over to JoAnn’s (must have some fabric paint to put on bottom of Fuzzy Feet to keep from slip-sliding on woodfloors), into Fred Meyers for misc. and snacks for train ride. Down to post office, which I do have to say, the parking lot was a lot better than yesterday.

Received a grand little gift from neighbor. A seed master/dropper. Yay! Great for lettuce and carrots seeds…perfect. Took presents to three of the neighbors. Have to shop for four other neighbors as we will all be together for Christmas dinner as neighbors house. I sure yak alot on this the past few days. Ah, Winter Break. “Time is on my side, yes it is”.
