Two Irish Hiking Scarves on the sticks. Dedicating my time to finish my Sienna Cardigan left me wanting to accomplish a bit more before Thanksgiving arrives.
I said “no handknits” as gifts this year. If the dark blue/black tweed Cascade 220 comes out well, it will be for my very sweet, very hardworking neighbor, Risa. She’s from Russia and though we have a language barrier at times, we manage to communicate. She deserves a scarf. One to wear on chilly days when she takes her walk.
I love wool/fiber. I love embroidery. All handcrafts are good. Here is my first attempt at penny rugs. I’m making three holiday penny rug mats. Two will be gifts and one for me. I have no pattern directions as this is one I partially made up. Having found an applique turkey pattern online and using the perfect size plate to use as a template for the cirlces. I’m having fun and found a great group online to learn, share and grow with.
The Penny Rug is adorable! I’m not familiar with what a Penny Rug is so I’m going to have to google and learn something new.
Nice looking scarves! The Penny rugs are too cute!
I love those penny rugs. Um…are they like coasters? I’d like to make some, too.
