noon, I cut the finally finishing thread. Wow. What a ride. Knitting retreat gave me the time to completely knit the back and the right front. Sleeves were my dabbling project that I had taken to work with me to knit on during my lunch break. Having yesterday off, I managed to knit for nine, yes knitters, nine hours. A bit of up and down to do laundry, put in another dvd, make homemade pizza, but pretty much devoted to knitting. I had DD#2 take the picture, she did a lovely job.
Project Stats:
Pattern: Sienna Cardigan by Ann E. Smith, Interweave Knits, Fall 2006 Issue
Yarn: Peruvian Collection Uros Aran by Elann.Com
Fiber Content: 50% Highland Wool/50% Llama
Needles: US Size 9 – 24″ length Addi Turbo Circulars
Start Date: October 24, 2006
Finish Date: November 11, 2006
Notes:
The Llama portion of the fiber likes to shed, so black shirts/tops will not be the choice for wearing under this sweater. The llama is also a bit scratchy, making long sleeves vital. I love the color, buttons and the sweater all together. I am so happy to say that I did not waver from this project during knitting retreat. The only other project I picked up to knit on was a pair of socks as knitting the sweater while waiting for DD#1 to arrive back at school from bowling league was not a good choice…socks are an easy knit with out watching and wait project.
I hope my posting has given any of you that have been thinking about making this sweater a nudge towards doing so. I only found one other post on a blog out there last night for this sweater.
Hmmmm, where did I put the new issue of IK?
Gorgeous!
Love it! Now that I see it out of the magazine it really makes me want to knit it.
I just love the shawl collar and lace front. The buttons are perfect. What a great accomplishment.
Wonderful color. You did a great job.
Nice job! I love the color!
wow, well done! you really know how to tackle a project and get it done. Looks great and love the colour!
Yours is beautiful. Mine has not been finished yet for I am busy with other vest. I am thinking whether the shawl colour is knitted, depend on the quantity of yarn which given by my friend. I will hurry up my Sienna for myself is very eager to see the FO.
The sweater looks so nice – I really like the edging along side the buttons.
The colour is fabulous for you.
Beautimous!
It looks great! I was surprised not to see this cardigan featured in very many knitting blogs. The few Siennas that I have seen have been knit in very short periods of time.
I have earmarked some navy Jaeger shetland aran for this project, but I need to work on my Hourglass sweater from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts, first!
