Teabird17 wrote, including a line of “just had a piece of homemade maple walnut cake”. OMG…it sounds so heavenly. Darn diet. I will keep peddling my tricycle. LOL
FairIsle…I’m four cards ahead of the game, feeling confident that I, for once, will not be in “panic mode” come Thanksgiving weekend (US in November).
Jenni…I love my BagSmith bag. I only have one project in at this time, with a bit of this and that in the pockets for supplies always needed (seaming yarn needle, crochet hook, stitch holders, yada-yada).
My knitting is still extremely slow, at least in my book. I am capable of getting about four repeats in on the One Cable Scarf at lunch.
Along with my brussel sprout craving, I have a craving for books. I still will read the books chosen for each month over at KTC, but I have been craving small, little books, with lovely, happy endings of love and happiness. Yeah, yeah, stop snickering. I’m a romantic at heart and sometimes I just need a little surreal romance that I can’t quite obtain on my own. LOL
Saturday’s read was “Manhunt” by Janet Evanovich. You know, the author that writes mystery, with the numeric order in her titles. Well, she’s written a bit of romance…and since I love the rugged outland, it was perfect with Alaska as the scene.
Are you still there…are you still coming back to read my blog now that I have let the cat out of the bag and have admitted to being a “dime store novel trash girl”?
Next in my evening reads before bed it “The Little Dragon”. A quick read…enough to keep my mind satisfied.
The older I get the more I need my “comfort food” novels I’m afraid.
You might like Masie Dobbs. Heather gave it to me for the mystery swap and it is pretty sweet so far.
Trashy romantic dime store novels! The horror!
I liked Moll Flanders a heck of a lot more than I liked Tess of the D’ubervilles.
Nothin’ wrong with comfort food! Mine: cozy mysteries. REALLY cozy mysteries. Aunt Dimity mysteries. Laura Childs’ mysteries about a tea house. I’m talking **cozy** !!
In fact, Pride and Prejudice is going to be a cozy, isn’t it? Issues, yes – but also comfort, cool observation, and a reliable ending…
