Had a wonderful time meeting up with Knitty members up in Seattle today. We all met for coffee at Starbucks, then headed over to Weaving Works for a bit of shopping and chatting. Three more skeins of SWTC Bamboo are now in my knitting basket, along with some Rowan Yorkshire Tweed from Hilltop Yarns, thanks to Suzanne for finding that great little 35% sale in the bottom corner of that shelf. I did pick up an old issue of Interweave Knits at Pastimes. The Charlotte Web shawl pattern is running from me…I will catch up and get it someday.
Suzanne…you are an inspiration and a giggle too. Full of energy and fun to chat with. We will have to gather again for some knitting, spinning or card making. Jen, wow, an amazing knitter, great ideas and another inspiration to this ol’ girl. I’ll have to read your blog more often to see what you’ve been creating. Carry took the day off, with Stariel and Netherlass, here from afar, it was great to meet them and get creative insight from their end. It’s like that at the Knitter’s Retreat at Ft. Worden in November each year, the inspiration from hundreds of knitters you gather with, eat with, knit with, chat with, then run to the nearest LYS to find yarn to make a project like one of the hundreds of knitters were making while you were together. The yarn shops don’t put out much creative ideas for me…but seeing what everyone else is working on, even if I am a day late and everyone else is finished, gets me motivated.
I am making such progress on the Cozy but would love to go dive in on the Flower Basket Shawl, again, now that I frogged the alpaca cloud and planning to make it with SWTC Bamboo, in red. A nap would be pretty good right now too. Thankfully dinner is in a crockpot tonight, just have to slice the french bread (ooolala, so fresh) and the watermelon. Easy, breezy dinner.
Coffee, I just need a cup of coffee…
I had such a blast meeting you. Thanks so much for driving up…it’s a long way for you. Anytime you (and Mary) feel like knitting or stamping just let me know. Hmm…I think I’ll post a pic of my stamping stuff just to entice Mary.
I’ve started my FBS (I blame you since you mentioned a mini-KAL on Knitty). I can’t wait to see it in Bamboo…it will look amazing!
Hey, you have a great blog here! I’m definitely going to bookmark you!
